CFA awards

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture is encouraging nominations for the CFA agricultural awards.

The awards program is designed to acknowledge the work of producers and farm groups that help raise awareness and foster the growth of agriculture.

Winners receive a $500 gift certificate and a trip to the CFA 75th anniversary banquet in Ottawa on Oct. 20.

The nomination deadline is Sept. 10, 2010. Visit www.cfa-fca.ca for details. The categories:

• The agricultural awareness and education award is presented to one of the CFA’s 22 member organizations or a member of a member organization that features an outstanding campaign or other

educational initiative, such as a website or resource library, aimed at increasing the public’s agricultural awareness.

• The Environmental Stewardship award is given for demonstrating environmentally conscious business practices or policies.

• The Youth Leadership award is presented to an individual, 25 years of age or younger who has contributed to the agriculture industry.
