The Canadian Canola Growers Association is offering a cash advance program for canola, flax, rye and oats through most grain companies and canola crushers.

The annual program operates under the federal Agriculture Marketing Programs Act. Producers are eligible for up to $250,000 in AMPA and Canadian Wheat Board advances. Interest on the first $50,000 is paid by the federal government. Over that amount, producers pay the interest.

The loan rates are:

  • Canola – Grades 1 and 2 –

$165 a tonne.

Grade 3 and sample-

$110 a tonne.

  • Flax – $125 a tonne.
  • Rye – $50 a tonne.
  • Oats – $60 a tonne.

Application is made at local grain elevators or processors and the forms are forwarded to the canola growers association.

Advances are repaid by the sale of the crop against which the advance is taken.
