The guilty plea in Saskatchewan Provincial Court resulted in a fine of $1,000 and a $400 victim surcharge. The fines were imposed March 30.

A Canadian Food Inspection Agency investigation determined that the company made a production error Feb. 13, 2008, which resulted in the addition of tylosin phosphate to dairy ration feed.

Tylosin phosphate is not approved for use in dairy ration feed in Canada.
