CHICAGO (Reuters) — Cargill Inc. is investing $100 million to expand wheat milling at its grain complex in Efremov, Russia, nearly doubling its processing capacity to 500,000 tonnes of wheat a year.
The Efremov complex, which employs more than 800 people, produces starches and sweeteners from corn, barley, wheat and other grains for use in soft drinks, beer, confectionery and flour. .
Russia is projected to be the world’s third-largest wheat exporter this season behind the United States and Canada.
