OTTAWA (Staff) – An accountant’s investigation of Canadian Wheat Board durum sales into the U.S. market has exonerated the board, says an industry official who has seen the report.
Doug Campbell, president of the Canada Grains Council, said Monday the report found the board had not been selling durum into the U.S. at less than acquisition price.
Both governments have received copies of the report but the results have not yet been published.
“My view is that it exonerates the board,” Campbell said in an interview. “It shows the board has been acting in a proper manner.”
