HOLDEN, Alta. – If kids live on a farm, they need to know about the dangers, says the organizer of a rural safety day camp.
“We want kids to learn something about safety,” Annie Louise Danilak said in Holden July 10 during the day-long camp at which children learned about electricity on the farm and the dangers of farm equipment and dugouts.
Danilak said the local victims services agency requested organizers include information on dugout safety and all-terrain vehicles because of the increasing number of injuries.
About 54 children attended the safety camp, which featured nine information stations.
