WINNIPEG (Staff) – The Canadian Wheat Board has extended its special open delivery program for wheat, durum and feed barley, which will now end July 21.

There is ample space in country elevators and good sales opportunities are available, the board said in a press release.

Farmers will have more time to deliver grain before rail freight rates increase effective Aug. 1.

The open delivery call is for tonnage not already committed under board contracts. A contract is not necessary for the open delivery program.

Grain can be delivered on storage for settlement within 90 days. But deliveries settled after Aug.1, will be subject to the higher 1995 freight rates.
