Anthrax cases continue to increase across the Prairies. As of Sept., 146 horses, bison, goats and cattle have died from the disease in 2007.
In Alberta, 70 bison and cattle have died in four locations. Two cattle died in Cypress County, two in Clearwater County, 14 bison in the Municipal District of Bonnyville and 52 bison in the MD of Fairview.
In Saskatchewan, two cattle died, one in the Rural Municipality of Torch River and another in the RM of Wilton.
In Manitoba, 47 cattle died on 15 farms within the RM of Armstrong, another in the RM of Stuartburn and three cows at one location in the RM of St. Andrews. Twenty cattle died in the RM of Rockwood at four locations. One horse and two goats also died in Rockwood.
