A drug that can prove lethal to humans has been stolen from a veterinary clinic in Glenboro, Man.

A quantity of euthansol was stolen from the Glenboro Veterinary Clinic during a break-in on the weekend of July 11 and 12.

Euthansol, used to destroy sick or unwanted animals, can have deadly effects if consumed by people.

Several other drugs were taken during the break-in. Most of the stolen drugs were anesthetics, tranquilizers or painkillers.

“They can all be lethal if taken in large enough doses,” said Const. Karen Roblin of the Treherne RCMP.

Police fear the drugs were stolen for human consumption because most are mind-altering substances.
