The Canola Council of Canada is cutting its agronomy team as part of a “refreshed strategic framework.”
The guide offers the latest advice of forage species and varietal performances and the recommended seeding rates for different soil zones. There are also sections on forage management, fertilizer, weed control and management of saline areas.
As well, the hay section has been expanded to help combat the problem of producers cutting hay too late, Michel Tremblay, crop development specialist with Saskatchewan Agriculture said in a press release.
The section on grazing has also been revamped and now deals with principles rather than specifics, which allows farmers to custom design a grazing system to suit their conditions.

Manitoba recently expanded the computerization of its land titles system to Portage la Prairie.
The upgrade is expected to provide faster service and allow people to use their home computers to conduct searches, the province’s consumer and corporate affairs minister Jim Ernst said in a press release.
Manitoba has other computerized land titles offices in Winnipeg and Brandon.
The Portage la Prairie office is the third largest in the province and serves central Manitoba and northern areas included Churchill, Thompson, The Pas and Flin Flon.
