MANITOBA
Eastern
- Harvest is nearly complete with late canola and flax still being harvested.
- Flax yields are reported between 10 and 30 bushels per acre.
- Edible bean harvest is underway. Soybeans averaged between 10 and 40 bu. per acre.
- Sunflower and grain corn harvest will begin this week. Corn silage has just begun.
- Drought has injured fall seeded crops and continues to create poor pasture conditions across the province.
SASKATCHEWAN
South
- Harvest is nearly complete with the exception of some flax crops.
- In the Regina plains slightly better than average crops were harvested. Most of the south’s crops will fall into the top two grades.
- Fall seeding is ongoing. Recent rains of 25 to 50 millimetres are assisting this as well as improving pastures.

Northeast
- Higher than average canola yields, with harvest well along and grain in good condition.
- Canaryseed and flax harvests underway.
- Pastures are fair, but dry. Recent rains are improving conditions. Some pasture feeding underway.
Central
- Harvest of cereals is nearly complete in the west and 75 percent in the east. Canola, flax and canaryseed harvests underway.
- Sunflower harvest will start this week.
- Canola yields range from 20 to 55 bu. per acre; barley 45 to 110 and peas 30 to 65.
- Wheat midge damage will downgrade a lot of spring wheat.
- Pastures are improving from poor condition due to rainfall measuring 25 to 100 mm. Rain has delayed fall seeding, but improved conditions.
Northwest
- Rain has delayed harvest, but cereals are progressing well. Canola harvest is underway. Flax remains mainly unharvested.
- Higher than average yields reported in all crops.
- Pastures are improving to fair from poor due to rains.
ALBERTA
South
- Harvest of most small grains and oilseeds is complete.
- Corn silage continues with strong yields.
- Sugar beet and sunflower harvests have yet to start but high yields are expected for both.
- Heat and drought reduced yields to average levels, but quality is reported as excellent.
- Pastures are poor, but recent heavy rains have improved conditions.
Central
- Harvest is 75 percent complete with recent delays due to heavy rainfall.
- Snow and rain are delaying fall fieldwork.
- Canola crops were average, with barley yielding 80 to 90 bu. per acre and wheat 40 to 50 bu.
- Strong hay supplies of very good quality and excellent pasture conditions are a product of good moisture conditions.
North
- Harvest is 90 percent complete.
- Heavy rainfall has delayed further harvest.
- Crop yields range from average to above average with very good quality.
Peace River
- Harvest is nearly complete with late barley and green oats outstanding.
- Cereals and canola in the bin are rated as very good, but very dry.
- Yields of canola averaged 20 to 30 bu. per acre; cereals averaged 40 to 60 bu.
- Pastures are fair to poor condition. Snow and recent rains are improving conditions.
