New board for food centre

The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity elected Mike Dungate as president, Julie Dickson Olmstead as vice-president and Darlene McBain as secretary-treasurer.

Three directors were also re-elected, including Jean-Marc Ruest, senior vice-president, corporate affairs and general counsel of Richardson International Ltd., Darlene McBain, director, industry relations at Farm Credit Canada, and Adele Buettner, founder and president of AgriBiz Communications Corp.

Michael Graydon, chief executive officer of Food, Health and Consumer Products of Canada, was also elected to the board as a new director.

Nuffield Scholar applicants sought

Applications for the 2024 Nuffield Canada Scholarship will be open until June 30.

Qualifying applicants may be selected for an interview in late July, with successful scholars announced in September.

The program is open to those 25 years or older and mid-career in the agriculture sector.

Scholars will be required to travel a minimum of 10 weeks and expected to share their work and experiences.

Grants available for ag societies

Applications are open until July 30 for Rocky Mountain Equipment’s Right by You Agricultural Society Grant.

Launched in 2021, the program supports local projects that benefit the lives of rural residents across Western Canada by contributing funding to four agricultural societies in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Each of the four selected societies will receive a grant of $10,000 toward projects.

Eligible projects must enhance the lives of community residents and be completed within two years.

Successful applicants will be announced on Sept. 30.
