Canterra fundraiser seeks nominations

Canterra Seeds is accepting nominations in its Rooted in the Prairies Project until March 31 for seed to be planted in the 2023 crop year.

Farmers can partner with Canterra to plant a crop in support of a cause with proceeds donated to the charitable or non-profit organization nominated.

The Minnedosa Grain Growing Project, which donates the proceeds of its fields to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, was the recipient of 12 bags of CS4000 LL canola seed last year, which resulted in a $42,000 contribution to the charity.

Each donation means fewer expenses to grow the crop, which can potentially lead to additional funds for the charity.

More information is at canterra.com.

Nominators may also put an organization forward for a monetary donation directly from Canterra Seeds until Sept. 30.
