BASF, CFL recognize farmers
The Canadian Football League and BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions are uniting to recognize farmers and their communities.
CFL fans and BASF customers can take part in the InVigor Salute to Farmers contest, which launched in August and runs throughout the 2022 CFL regular season and the Grey Cup.
People are invited to share the stories of farmers and their families and their impacts on their local communities.
One family will be invited and recognized during the 109th Grey Cup, scheduled for Nov. 20 in Regina.

New member for bison hall of fame
Mark Silzer of Humboldt, Sask., was inducted into the National Buffalo Hall of Fame during the International Bison Convention in Saskatoon July 14.
Silzer becomes the second Canadian (Bill Lenton in 2004) and the 32nd member of the National Buffalo Hall of Fame.
Mark and Denise Silzer, in partnership with Cec and Jane Stumborg, started the Wolverine Bison Company in 1995.
The company is an integrated cow-calf, backgrounding and finishing operation of about 400 Plains bison.
Silzer was elected to the voluntary board of the Saskatchewan Bison Association from 2000 to 2019 and served as chair between 2000 and 2011. He was elected to the Canadian Bison Association board for 17 years and served as board chair and president from 2004 to 2016.
He was selected for providing leadership on a wide range of issues including bison health and welfare, conservation, research, and trade. He also helped strengthen ties between the Canadian and American bison industries.
Silzer joins 31 inductees in the Hall of Fame including Charles Goodnight and Teddy Roosevelt, and 10 other historical figures as well as 19 other contemporary champions.
