Sheep industry award presented
Nancy Mallinson of Valley Livestock Supplies in Abbotsford, B.C., is the recipient of the 2021 Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers National Sheep Industry Award.
The award recognizes excellence for achievements and service to the sheep and wool industry in Canada.
Mallinson has held many roles in the Otter 4-H Lamb Club and Langley Lamb and Woolcraft 4-H Club. As well, she has been a mentor and advocate for sheep producers.
She has also served on the boards of the Lower Mainland Sheep Producer Association and the B.C. Purebred Sheep Producers Association.

Potato GM retires
United Potato Growers of Canada announced the retirement of general manager, Kevin MacIsaac after 10 years of service.
His 42-year career includes experience as an extension agronomist, farmer, industry organizer and advocate.
During his 27-year farming career MacIsaac milked cows, grew cereal and protein crops, as well as potatoes.
He has been involved with many farm organizations including chair of the P.E.I. potato board, chair of the P.E.I. Soil and Crop Improvement Association, and director of the P.E.I. processing committee.
UPGC is seeking applications for the GM position this fall.
