Viterra position

Viterra has appointed Steven Berger to the position of senior vice-president of human resources and transformation.

He replaces Gerry Valois, who retired earlier this year.

Berger has an extensive background in merger integration.

Before joining the company, he was a senior executive with Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Over the past six months, he has worked with Viterra executives to plan and manage the integration of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and Agricore United to create Viterra.

In his new role, he will lead Viterra’s human resources department, overseeing employee management and recruitment and retention initiatives, incentive and compensation programs, labour relations, career and personal development programs and succession planning initiatives.
