4-Hers in exchange
Five 4-H members from British Columbia spent two weeks in Eastern Canada this summer as part of the Royal Bank 4-H Interprovincial Exchange program.
The B.C. delegates had hosted 4-H members from Eastern Canada in July and then paid them a visit in August. The B.C. 4-Hers spent their exchange visits in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario.
Agribition scholarships
Five post-secondary students have received $1,000 scholarships from
Canadian Western Agribition.
All five have been active exhibitors at Agribition.

Megan Boake of Melville, Sask., a 4-H and prospect steer and heifer participant, is entering her fourth year of arts education studies at the University of Regina.
Kaitlin Campbell of Minto, Man., is a Limousin exhibitor who has also participated in the Canadian Junior Beef Extreme, RBC Beef Supreme Challenge and 4-H events. She is in her third year of studies toward a bachelor of nursing degree at Brandon University.
Fawn Jackson of Inglis, Man., a Charolais exhibitor and international 4-H international judging competitor, is in her first year of agricultural and agribusiness studies at the University of Alberta.
Courtney MacDougall of Regina is a sheep exhibitor who is in her third year of bachelor of social work studies at the University of Regina.
Katie Songer of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., is a Shorthorn exhibitor and participant in the first Lady Classic, Canadian Junior Beef Extreme and the RBC Beef Supreme Challenge. She is in her fourth year of visual communications studies at the Alberta College of Art and Design.
Seaway official
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. has appointed Bruce Hodgson as director of market development.
Based in St. Catharines, Ont., Hodgson will be responsible for attracting more traffic to the seaway, including traditional and new cargoes.
He has extensive marine industry experience in British Columbia, running his own company and holding management and senior sales positions with Norasia Container Line Canada, Wheels Pacific Freights Systems, Westwood Shipping Lines and International Sea-Land Shipping Service.
