Fairs get funding

The federal government will contribute $1.15 million to the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions in support of its Consumer Protection Programs for Farm Animal Contact at Fairs, Exhibitions and Shows program.

The funding will allow the association to deliver training programs aimed at reducing the risk of E. coli outbreaks and protecting consumers at events where humans come in contact with farm animals.

The project’s primary focus is to deliver training workshops to individual fair, exhibition and show operators but will also provide resource materials and follow-up training for program participants.
