Swine board officials
Arlee McGrath of Leroy, Sask., and Bryan Schreiner of the University of Saskatchewan have been appointed to the Prairie Swine Centre Board.
McGrath operates a grain and livestock farm with his wife Shirley while Schreiner is director of research services and assistant to the vice-president of research at the U of S.
Canola reports available
The Canola Agronomy Network is distributing Canola Watch reports for the 2006 growing season.
The reports, which are available by e-mail at no charge, provide details of crop conditions and tips and information to identify and address production issues as they arise.

The Canola Agronomy Network is led by more than 20 canola council agronomists and extension specialists, as well as growers and industry retailers, who take part in weekly conference calls from late April to early September. Information is compiled into a weekly Canola Watch report that is e-mailed to approximately 1,000 agricultural professionals and producers each week.

council.org and type “subscribe canola crop watch report” in the subject box.
Bull riders event
Professional bull riders will perform in Regina June 21-22 during the Western Canada Farm Progress Show.
The Conexus PBR Rocky Cup will feature the top 30 bull riders from the Canadian PBR standings and the top 10 entries from the PBR world standings. Forty bull riders will compete, including three time Canadian champion Rod Bell, 2005 PBR Rookie of the World Kody Lostroh and Matt Roy.
The Conexus PBR Rocky Cup is one of 10 sanctioned PBR Rocky Cup Tour events scheduled in Canada.
