Farm adviser credentials
The Canadian Association of Farm Advisors is conferring certified agricultural farm adviser credentials on its members.
The credentials will serve as a mark of trust for farmers who are looking for professional advisers who specialize in law, accounting, financial planning, agrology and other advisory service professions.
CAFA has nearly 500 members dedicated to staying abreast of issues affecting agriculture and farm clients. Chapters meet regularly to hear speakers and learn about current trends in the industry.

Stacking Canada up on gene editing livestock
Canada may want to gauge how Argentina and other countries have approached gene editing in livestock and what that has meant for local innovation.
Farm Credit Canada employees and communities across the country fought hunger on Oct. 16 in recognition of World Food Day.
To recognize the event, FCC managers drove tractors and trailers through rural communities gathering donations for local food banks. In addition to the tours, FCC employees organized more than 20 activities across Canada to help pay for meal programs and to assist local food banks.
These activities included the corporate office challenge in Regina and the world’s longest barbecue in Camrose.
FCC also donated $25,000 to the Canadian Association of Food Banks in support of the National Food Sharing System, which ensures equitable distribution of food among member food banks.
Sask Ag on-line service
Saskatchewan Agriculture’s on-line feed grain and forage listing service is available to prairie farmers.
Producers wishing to list goods and services such as feed, pasture, seed, combining, cutting, baling and feedlot services can register online.
The listing service is free and easy to use. In the case of hay, the price listed on the website also helps establish the provincial price, which is used for situation analysis in the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization program.
The listing service can be found at www.agr.gov.sk.ca and can also be accessed by phoning the Agriculture Knowledge Centre at 866-457-2377.
