Olds officials change

The Olds College Centre for Innovation in Olds, Alta., has made two management changes.

As senior vice-president of business development, Rick Tofani will help entrepreneurs create innovative and competitive products, processes and knowledge that will contribute to Alberta’s primary value-added goals and help build sustainable communities.

Shelley Gingrich becomes director of finance and administration, which expands her duties to focus on finance, administration, strategic planning and communications.

Sheep chair

Randy Eros of Ste. Anne, Man., has been acclaimed chair of the Canadian Sheep Federation for a second year.

Meat Council director

James Laws will become executive director of the Canadian Meat Council on Jan. 5.

Laws graduated with an honours bachelor of science degree in agriculture from the University of Guelph in 1981, majoring in dairy science. He worked in the dairy industry in Canada, New Zealand and Jamaica before joining Agriculture Canada’s international trade policy directorate in 1988. He has been executive director of the Canadian Farm Business Management Council since 1999.
