WASHINGTON, D.C. (Reuter) – Four of the top-ranking executives at the U.S. Department of Agriculture were sworn into office Aug. 5, filling jobs held vacant for months.
Gus Schumacher, former head of the foreign agricultural service, vowed during the brief ceremony to be “a tireless advocate” for U.S. farmers and the food system as undersecretary in charge of export and domestic farm programs.
