HOGS Weaken
U.S. hog prices drifted lower on ample market-ready supply and the shift to cooler weather that should allow faster weight gain.
Iowa-southern Minnesota hogs delivered were US$51 per hundredweight Sept. 11, steady to 50 cents lower from $51.50 Sept. 4.
U.S. hogs averaged $65.47 on a carcass basis Sept. 11, down from $68.02 Sept. 3.
The U.S. pork cutout fell to $84.66 per cwt. Sept. 11, down from $85.31 Sept. 4.The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter for the week to Sept. 12 was 2.040 million, down from 2.171 million the previous week.

BISON steady
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices up to C$5.30 per pound hot hanging weight.
U.S. buyers are offering US$4.25 with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.10. American buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
SHEEP
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 626 sheep and lambs and 39 goats traded Sept. 8.
Light lambs sold steady. Heavy types sold much higher because of the coming Muslim Eid ul Adha holiday.
