HOGS

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $33.18 per hundredweight Nov. 29, down from $35.46 on Nov. 22.

U.S. hogs averaged $42.80 on a carcass basis Nov. 29, up from $41.91 Nov. 22.

The U.S. pork cutout was $81.85 per cwt. Nov. 29, down from $83.07 Nov. 22.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 30 was 2.343 million, down from 2.758 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.530 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the Nov. 30 Signature Five price was C$125.24 per 100 kilograms, down from C$126.57 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $56.81, down from $57.41 the previous week.

BISON

The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were C$4.40-$5 with some sales as high as $5.40. per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.85-4.15 per lb. with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.

Grade A heifers sold for C$4.40-$4.80 hot hanging weight with some sales as high as $5.10. U.S. buyers are offering US$3-3.25 per lb.

Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.

LAMBS

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,408 sheep and lambs and 101 goats sold Nov. 25. Good new crop lambs sold higher. Heavy lambs sold steady to slightly stronger. Goats sold steady. Sheep sold slightly higher.

Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 840 sheep and 144 goats sold Nov. 25.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$176 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $165-$192, 70-85 lb. were $160-$185, 86-105 lb. were $154-$205 and 106 lb. and heavier were $150-$184.

Wool rams were $90-$117 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$149.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $150-$165 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $155-$183, 70-85 lb. were $146-$180, 86-105 lb. were $151-$177 and 106 lb. and heavier were $140-$152.

Hair rams were $75-$125 per cwt. Cull ewes were $77-$102.
