HOGS
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$60.54 per hundredweight July 26, up from $53.96 June 28.
U.S. hogs averaged $79.75 on a carcass basis July 26, up from $72.48 July 19.
The U.S. pork cutout was $84.38 per cwt. July 26, up from $78.53 July 19.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 27 was 2.351 million, up from 2.285 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.274 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the July 27 Signature Five price was C$187.87 per 100 kilograms, up from $170.35 the previous week.

BISON
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from $4.90-$5.20 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.80-$5.10. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
LAMBS
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 589 sheep and lambs and 15 goats sold July 22. Good light lambs sold steady. Heavy type lambs sold 10 higher. Good sheep sold higher.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,338 sheep and 294 goats sold July 22.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $190-$220 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $200-$225, 70-85 lb. were $206-$227, 86-105 lb. were $203-$230 and 106 lb. and heavier were $190-$212.
Wool rams were $96-$144 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$167.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $167-$211 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $172-$215, 70-85 lb. were $188-$208, 86-105 lb. were $185-$208 and 106 lb. and heavier were $180-$205.
Hair rams were $100-$155 per cwt. Cull ewes were $99-$142.
