Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $60.14 Nov. 8. It was not available Nov. 1.

U.S. hogs averaged $81.67 on a carcass basis Nov. 8, up from $79.06 Nov. 1.

One Beer Market Updates Day 3 – Lentils and beef

Day 3 of the One Beer Market Update at Ag in Motion 2025.

The U.S. pork cutout was $102.38 per hundredweight Nov. 8, down from $103.97 Nov. 1.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 8 was 2.437 million. It was 2.434 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.387 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the Nov. 9 Signature Four price was $221.08 per 100 kilograms, up from $212.65.

The Nov. 9 Hams Marketing cash price was $218.00, while on Nov. 2 it was $210.65. HyLife was $234.26 this week; it was $227.33 on Nov. 2. OlyWest was $222.10, up from $212.40 last week.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $237.00, from $227.60, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $ 240.36 this week, while.

Bison

The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $570-$600 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $540-$570 per cwt. for finished heifers. Mature bulls were $375-$400 per cwt., while mature cows were $400-$425 per cwt.

Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$440-$460 per cwt. for bulls and $425-$445 per cwt. for heifers. Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.

Prices for live bison in Canada were C$3 per pound for bulls and $2.70 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better. The mixed live animal price was not available.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 462 sheep and 738 lambs sold Nov. 4.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,631 sheep and 288 goats sold Nov. 4.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $280-$350 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $280-$325, 70-85 lb. were $245-$295, 86-105 lb. were $225-$265, and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$240. Wool rams were $130-$185 per cwt. Cull ewes were $150-$215.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $270-$325, 55-69 lb. were $240-$300, 70-85 lb. were $225-$285, 86-105 lb. were $215-$245 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$230. Hair rams were $140-$175 per cwt. Cull ewes were $140-$210.
