The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $56.81 Oct. 25. It was not available Oct. 18.
U.S. hogs averaged $75.66 on a carcass basis Oct. 25, up from $72.05 Oct. 18.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $550-$580 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $530-$560 per cwt. for finished heifers. Mature bulls were $370-$400 per cwt., while mature cows were $400-$425 per cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$430-$455 per cwt. for bulls per cwt. and $410-$430 per cwt. for heifers. Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were C$3 per pound for bulls and $2.70 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better. The mixed live animal price was not available.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 143 sheep and 831 lambs sold Oct. 21.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 2,356 sheep and 886 goats sold Oct. 21.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $260-$365 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $260-$330, 70-85 lb. were $230-$280, 86-105 lb. were $220-$250, and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$245. Wool rams were $120-$165 per cwt. Cull ewes were $130-$180.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $250-$315, 55-69 lb. were $240-$310, 70-85 lb. were $210-$260, 86-105 lb. were $210-$240 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$220. Hair rams were $120-$165 per cwt. Cull ewes were $130-$175.
