U.S. hogs averaged $83.53 on a carcass basis Aug. 9, down from $84.07 August 2.

The U.S. pork cutout was $98.66 per hundredweight Aug. 9, down from $104.31 Aug. 2.

The Aug. 10 Hams Marketing cash price was $226.22, while on Aug. 3 it was $226.82, HyLife was $241.47 this week, while on Aug. 3 it was $243.46. OlyWest was $232.20, up from $227.90 last week.
OlyWest 2021 was up, at $247.50, from $243.60, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $ 241.62 this week. On Aug. 3 it was $248.29.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $515-$550 per cwt., hot hanging weigh, for finished bulls and $500-$525 per cwt. for finished heifers. Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$425-US$450 per cwt. for bulls and $410-$420 per cwt. for heifers Prices for mature bulls were not available, while mature cows were $350-$375 per cwt. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were not available.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 305 sheep and 547 lambs sold Aug 5.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,831 sheep and 556 goats sold July 29
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $280-$350 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $260-$335, 70-85 lb. were $255-$305, 86-105 lb. were $250-$290, and 106 lb. and heavier were $245-$270. Wool rams were $140-$220 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$240.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $260-$315, 55-69 lb. were $250-$325, 70-85 lb. were $250-$295, 86-105 lb. were $250-$280 and 106 lb. and heavier were $240-$260. Hair rams were $150-$185 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$245.
