Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $65.30 July 19. It was not available July 12.

U.S. hogs averaged $82.42 on a carcass basis July 19, down from $83.04 July 12.

One Beer Market Updates Day 3 – Lentils and beef

Day 3 of the One Beer Market Update at Ag in Motion 2025.

The U.S. pork cutout was $102.16 per hundredweight July 19, down from $98.84 July 12.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 19 was 2.329 million. It was 2.338 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.295 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the July 20 Signature Four price was $216.80 per 100 kilograms, up from $215.85.

The July 20 Hams Marketing cash price was $214.80, while on July 13 it was $213.85. HyLife was not available this week. On July 13, it was $228.83. OlyWest was $216.40, down from $217.70 last week.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $226.50, from $226.20. HyLife’s adjusted price was not available this week. On July 13 it was $229.09.

Bison

The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $515-$550 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $500-$525 cwt. for finished heifers. Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available.

Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$420-$445 per cwt. for bulls and $410-$420 per cwt. for heifers. Mature bulls were $330-$350, while mature cows were $300-$330 per cwt. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.

Prices for live bison in Canada were not available for bulls and heifers of good quality or better. The mixed live animal price was also not available.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 251 sheep and 598 lambs sold July 15.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported 1,184 sheep and 302 goats sold July 15.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $320-$360 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $310-$351, 70-85 lb. were $280-$325, 86-105 lb. were $285-$316, and 106 lb. and heavier were $280-$319. Wool rams were $145-$185 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$195.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $280-$335, 55-69 lb. were $280-$315, 70-85 lb. were $270-$310, 86-105 lb. were $270-$305 and 106 lb. and heavier were $260-$295. Hair rams were $130-$275 per cwt. Cull ewes were $270-$270.
