Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available April 26. It was $67.09 April 19.
U.S. hogs averaged $90.38 on a carcass basis April 26, up from $88.49 April 19.
The U.S. pork cutout was $97.63 per hundredweight April 26, down from $100.09 April 19.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to April 26 was 2.375 million. It was 2.420 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.333 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 27 Signature Four price was $221.90 per 100 kilograms, up from $221.79.

The April 27 Hams Marketing cash price was $219.90, up from $219.79 April 20, while HyLife was $235.42 this week, down from $235.94 April 20. OlyWest was $226.20, up from $221.90.
OlyWest 2021 was up, at $237.10, from $233.30, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $235.87, down from $237.62 April 20.
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices for finished bulls at $485-$510 per cwt., hot hanging weight. Finished heifers were $475-$510 cwt. Mature bulls were $300-$400 cwt., while mature cows were $300-$400 cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$400-$430 per cwt. for bulls and $360-$400 per cwt. for heifers. Mature bulls were $313-$326, while mature cows were $300-$315 per cwt. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were C$2.50-$2.85 per pound for bulls and $2-$2.50 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better. Mixed live animal prices were $1.60-$2.38 per lb.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 466 sheep and 962 lambs sold April 22.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,243 sheep and 297 goats sold April 22.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$355 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $300-$358, 70-85 lb. were $310-$350, 86-105 lb. were $300-$340, and 106 lb. and heavier were $270-$315. Wool rams were $130-$217 per cwt. Cull ewes were $120-$275.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $275-$325, 55-69 lb. were $290-$350, 70-85 lb. were $290-$315, 86-105 lb. were $280-$310 and 106 lb. and heavier were $250-$290. Hair rams were $155-$228 per cwt. Cull ewes were $120-$210.
