Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $50.13 Feb. 2, up from $41.84 Jan. 26.
U.S. hogs averaged $ 61.76 on a carcass basis Feb. 2, up from $56.27 Jan. 26.
The U.S. pork cutout was $88.40 per hundredweight Feb. 2, down from $89.51 Jan. 26.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Feb. 2 was 2.442 million. It was 2.410 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.419 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Feb. 3 Signature Four price was $178.03 per 100 kilograms, up from $174.04.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $196.20, from $193.10, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $201.36, down from $202.81 Jan. 27.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported that domestic carcass prices for finished bulls were $475-$550 per cwt., hot hanging weight. Finished heifers were $465-$510 cwt. Mature bulls were $300-$400 cwt., while mature cows were $300-$400 cwt..
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$390-$425 for bulls per cwt.. Heifers were $340-$395 per cwt. Mature bulls were $313-$326 while mature cows were $300-$315 per cwt. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were $2.50-$3.70 per pound for bulls and $2.00-$2.70 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better. The mixed live animal price was $1.60-$2.38 per lb.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 382 sheep and 404 lambs sold Jan. 29.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,606 sheep and 286 goats sold Jan. 29.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$395 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $325-$375, 70-85 lb. were $300-$355, 86-105 lb. were $240-$315, and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$272. Wool rams were $120-$190 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$250.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $290-$360, 55-69 lb. were $300-$354, 70-85 lb. were $290-$340, 86-105 lb. were $235-$305 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$251. Hair rams were $145-$195 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$207.
