Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts Dec. 11 was $42.00; on Dec. 4 it was $44.64.
U.S. hogs averaged was $49.66 on a carcass basis Dec. 11, down from $55.53 on Dec. 4.
The U.S. pork cutout was $ 86.62 per hundredweight Dec. 11, up from $84.43 on Dec. 4.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Dec. 11 was 2.687 million. It was 2.695 million the previous week.
Slaughter numbers were not available for last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Dec. 9 Signature Four price was $179.61 per 100 kilograms, down from $179.61.

OlyWest 2021 was down, at $193.50 from $197.80 and HyLife’s adjusted price was $ 193.85; on Dec. 2 it was 196.10.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices for finished bulls $475 to $550 per cwt, hot hanging weight. Finished heifers were $470 to $515 cwt HHW. Mature bulls were $250 to $300 cwt HHW, while mature cows were $225 to $300 cwt HHW.
Carcass prices for bison being sold into the U.S. were US$390 to US$415 for bulls per cwt HHW. Heifers were US$340 to US$384 per cwt HHW. Mature bulls were US$313 to US$326 while mature cows were $US301 to US$315 per cwt HHW. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were $1.80 to $2.15 per pound for bulls and $1.05 to $1.50 per pound for heifers of good quality or better. Mixed live animal price was $1.65 to $2.25 per pound.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 355 sheep and 789 lambs sold Dec. 4.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta. reported 1,869 sheep and 216 goats sold Dec. 4.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $230-$295 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$272, 70-85 lb. were $205-$258, 86-105 lb. were $205-$243, and 106 lb. and heavier were $196-$225. Wool rams were $122-$210 per cwt. Cull ewes were $95-$175.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $200-$265, 55-69 lb. were $200-$265, 70-85 lb. were $201-$248, 86-105 lb. were $190-$253 and 106 lb. and heavier were $190-$220. Hair rams were $190-$201 per cwt. Cull ewes were $111-$215.
