Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts Dec. 4 was $44.64; on Nov. 27 it was $46.49.
U.S. hogs averaged was $55.53 on a carcass basis Dec. 4, down from $58.85 on Nov. 27.
The U.S. pork cutout was $84.43 per hundredweight Dec. 4, down from $88.75 on Nov. 27.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Dec. 4 was 2.704 million. It was 2.225 million the previous week.
Slaughter numbers were not available last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Dec. 2 Signature Four price was $179.61 per 100 kilograms, down from $186.02.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices for finished bulls at $475 to $550 per cwt., hot hanging weight. Finished heifers were $470 to $515 cwt. HHW. Mature bulls were $250 to $300 cwt. HHW, while mature cows were $225 to $300 cwt. HHW.
Carcass prices for bison being sold into the U.S. were US$390 to US$415 for bulls per cwt. HHW. Heifers were US$340 to US$384 per cwt. HHW. Mature bulls were US$313 to US$326 while mature cows were US$301 to US$315 per cwt. HHW. All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were $1.80 to $2.15 per pound for bulls and $1.05 to $1.50 per pound for heifers of good quality or better. Mixed live animal price was $1.65 to $2.25 per pound.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 361 sheep and 723 lambs sold Nov. 27.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported 959 sheep and 296 goats sold Nov. 27.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $230-$276 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$286, 70-85 lb. were $230-$285, 86-105 lb. were $210-$254, and 106 lb. and heavier were $195-$239. Wool rams were $105-$140 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$165.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $230-$275, 55-69 lb. were $230-$272, 70-85 lb. were $227-$254, 86-105 lb. were $200-$242 and 106 lb. and heavier were $195-$216. Hair rams were $110-$145 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$114.
