Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available Nov. 3 and Oct. 27.

U.S. hogs averaged $65.00 on a carcass basis Nov. 3, down from $66 Oct. 27.

The U.S. pork cutout was $ 87.28 per hundredweight Nov. 3, up from $86.40 Oct 27.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 3 was 2.417 million. It was 2.423 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.410 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the Nov. 4 Signature Four price was $193.18 per 100 kilograms, down from $194.71.

The Nov. 4 Hams Marketing cash price was $191.18, down from $192.71, HyLife was $204.51 this week, down from $205.94 Oct 28, and OlyWest was $191.50, down from $194.60.

OlyWest 2021 was down, at $205.80, from $208.80, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $205.32, down from $205.98 Oct. 28.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 525 sheep and 927 lambs sold Oct. 30.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,529 sheep and 286 goats sold Oct. 30.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$210 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $165-$210, 70-85 lb. were $169-$194, 86-105 lb. were $165-$192, and 106 lb. and heavier were $165-$184. Wool rams were $70-$149 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$140.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $140-$190, 55-69 lb. were $150-$185, 70-85 lb. were $150-$180, 86-105 lb. were $165-$189 and 106 lb. and heavier were $159-$180. Hair rams were $70-$125 per cwt. Cull ewes were $60-$120.
