Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available Sept. 22; on Sept. 15 it was $61.93.
U.S. hogs averaged $77.59 on a carcass basis Sep 22, up from $77.53 Sep 15.
The U.S. pork cutout was $ 97.26 per hundredweight Sept. 22, down from $98.29 Sept. 15.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Sept. 22 was 2.416 million. It was 2.381 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.413 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Sept. 23 Signature Four price was $210.48 per 100 kilograms, down from $211.06.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $227.60, from $226.40, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $227.50; on Sept. 16 it was $228.70.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 636 sheep and 732 lambs sold Sept. 18.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 2,426 sheep and 562 goats sold Sept. 18.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $185-$225 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $190-$230, 70-85 lb. were $180-$215, 86-105 lb. were $185-$225, and 106 lb. and heavier were $185-$212. Wool rams were $90-$190 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$155.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $150-$170, 55-69 lb. were $150-$188, 70-85 lb. were $150-$198, 86-105 lb. were $164-$215 and 106 lb. and heavier were $170-$205. Hair rams were $60-$160 per cwt. Cull ewes were $40-$155.
