Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts July 14 was not available; on July 7 it was $73.78.

U.S. hogs averaged $99.91 on a carcass basis July 14, up from $97.25 July 7.

The U.S. pork cutout was $115.55 per hundredweight July 14, up from $107.94 July 7.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 14 was 2.307 million, u[ from 1.800 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.229 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the July 15 Signature Four price was $232.74 per 100 kilograms, up from $224.96.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $244.50, from $231.50, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $251.09, up from $243.86 July 8.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 625 sheep and 675 lambs sold July 10.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta. reported that 908 sheep and 232 goats sold July 10.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $200-$255 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $200-$253, 70-85 lb. were $210-$256, 86-105 lb. were $210-$256, and 106 lb. and heavier were $215-$233. Wool rams were $97.5-$205 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-$205.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $190-$225, 55-69 lb. were $190-$225, 70-85 lb. were $190-$235, 86-105 lb. were $200-$246 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$228. Hair rams were $110-$170 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$195.
