Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts June 23 was 72.23. It was unavailable June 16.

U.S. hogs averaged $93.04 on a carcass basis June 23, up from $85.17 June 16.

The U.S. pork cutout was $97.36 per hundredweight June 23, up from $92.33 June 16.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to June 23 was 2.293 million. It was 2.308 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.292 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the June 24 Signature Four price was $210.73 per 100 kilograms, up from $205.04.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $213, from $207.30, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $225.61, up from $219.15 June 17.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 647 sheep and 1,773 lambs sold June 19.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported 1,081 sheep and 489 goats sold June 19.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $220-$255 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $210-$255, 70-85 lb. were $230-$290, 86-105 lb. were $240-$295 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$277. Wool rams were $125-$225 per cwt. Cull ewes were $80-$185.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$250, 55-69 lb. were $180-$246, 70-85 lb. were $200-$275, 86-105 lb. were $230-$277 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$268. Hair rams were $140-$200 per cwt. Cull ewes were $75-$175.
