Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available June 9 and June 16.

U.S. hogs averaged $85.17 on a carcass basis June 16, down from $85.52 June 9.

The U.S. pork cutout was $92.33 per hundredweight June 16, up from $88.39 June 9.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to June 16 was 2.308 million, up from 2.305 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.319 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the June 17 Signature Four price was $205.04 per 100 kilograms, up from $200.62.

The June 17 Hams Marketing cash price was $203.04, up from $198.62, and HyLife was $219.15 this week, compared to $214.31 June 10. OlyWest was $202.20, up from $195.80.

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $207.30, from $204.10, and HyLife’s adjusted price was 219.15, up from $214.24 June 10.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 507 sheep and 1,107 lambs sold June 12.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,798 sheep and 466 goats sold June 12.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $180-$240 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $220-$260, 70-85 lb. were $220-$303, 86-105 lb. were $257-$313 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$274. Wool rams were $140-$253 per cwt. Cull ewes were $80-$165.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $150-$200, 55-69 lb. were $190-$240, 70-85 lb. were $210-$281, 86-105 lb. were $230-$277 and 106 lb. and heavier were $240-$273. Hair rams were $160-$300 per cwt. Cull ewes were $75-$195.
