Hogs

The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available June 2 or June 9.

U.S. hogs averaged $85.52 on a carcass basis June 9, up from $81.76 June 2.

The U.S. pork cutout was $88.39 per hundredweight June 9, up from $84.72 June 2.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to June 9 was 2.315 million. It was 1.909 million the previous week.

Slaughter was 2.347 million last year at the same time.

In Canada, the June 10 Signature Four price was $200.62 per 100 kilograms, up from $197.39

Russian wheat exports start to pick up the pace

Russia has had a slow start for its 2025-26 wheat export program, but the pace is starting to pick up and that is a bearish factor for prices.

The June 10 Hams Marketing cash price was $198.62, up from $195.39. HyLife was $214.31 this week, while on June 3 it was $210.29. OlyWest was $195.80, up from $193.90

OlyWest 2021 was up, at $204.10, from $201.90, and HyLife’s adjusted price was 214.24, up from $210.29 June 3.

Lambs

Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 614 sheep and 955 lambs sold June 5.

Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta. reported that 870 sheep and 249 goats sold June 5.

Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $190-$250 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$270, 70-85 lb. were $235-$298, 86-105 lb. were $230-$291, and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$265. Wool rams were $140-$203 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$171.

Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $180-$240, 55-69 lb. were $210-$260, 70-85 lb. were $240-$275, 86-105 lb. were $230-$262 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$245. Hair rams were $120-$250 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$135.
