Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was unavailable March 31, but it was $56.90 on March 24.
U.S. hogs averaged $71.90 on a carcass basis March 31, down from $76.58 March 24.
The U.S. pork cutout was $77.28 per hundredweight March 31, down from $81.05 March 24.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to March 31 was 2.393 million, down from 2.394 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.380 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 1 Signature Four price was C$192.07 per 100 kilograms, down from $198.17.

The April 1 Hams Marketing cash price was $190.07, down from $196.17, and HyLife was unavailable, although it was it was $215.42 on March 17. OlyWest was $188.50, down from $196.10.
OlyWest 2021 was down, at $199, from $208.50. HyLife’s adjusted price was unavailable, but on March 17 it was $214.41.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 421 sheep and 1,121 lambs sold March 27.
Beaver Hill Auctions in Tofield, Alta. reported that 1,803 sheep and 171 goats sold March 27.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $260-315 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $250-315, 70-85 lb. were $240-310, 86-105 lb. were $225-290 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-282. Wool rams were $116-228 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-220.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $210-255, 55-69 lb. were $230-275, 70-85 lb. were $240-306, 86-105 lb. were $230-258 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-245. Hair rams were $90-240 per cwt. Cull ewes were $95-160.
