Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available Dec. 2. It was $65.29 Nov. 25.
U.S. hogs averaged $82.22 on a carcass basis Dec. 2, down from $82.95 Nov. 25.
The U.S. pork cutout was $88.94 per hundredweight Dec. 2, up from $87.63 Nov. 25.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Dec. 3 was 2.590 million, up from 2.213 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.656 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Dec. 3 Signature Four price was C$204.30 per 100 kilograms, down from $208.99.

Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada range from $4-$4.25 per pound hot hanging weight with the occasional sale higher. Most animals were purchased at $4.25 per pound. Canadian buyers are paying $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.50-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.75-$4 per pound hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.50-$3.75. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 2,250 sheep sold Nov. 28.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,263 sheep and 246 goats sold Nov. 28.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $180-$225 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $190-$237, 70-85 lb. were $185-$230, 86-105 lb. were $166-$200 and 106 lb. and heavier were $155-$178. Wool rams were $115-$165 per cwt. Cull ewes were $115-$150.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $165-$205 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $170-$207, 70-85 lb. were $170-$200, 86-105 lb. were $160-$180 and 106 lb. and heavier were $145-$167. Hair rams were $130-$161 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$140.
