Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $65.29 Nov. 25. It was not available Nov. 18.
U.S. hogs averaged $82.95 on a carcass basis Nov. 25, up from $81.81 Nov. 18.
The U.S. pork cutout was $87.63 per hundredweight Nov. 25, down from $93.44 Nov. 18.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 26 was 2.223 million, up from 2.599 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.255 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Nov. 26 Signature Four price was C$208.99 per 100 kilograms, down from $212.05.

Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada range from $4-$4.25 per pound hot hanging weight with the occasional sale higher. Most animals purchased at $4.25 per pound. Canadian buyers are paying $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.50-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.75-$4 per pound hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.50-$3.75. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,281 sheep sold Nov. 21.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,428 sheep and 181 goats sold Nov. 21.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $180-$225 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $200-$240, 70-85 lb. were $180-$230, 86-105 lb. were $165-$205 and 106 lb. and heavier were $160-$198. Wool rams were $112-$154 per cwt. Cull ewes were $135-$165.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $165-$205 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $170-$207, 70-85 lb. were $170-$200, 86-105 lb. were $160-$180 and 106 lb. and heavier were $145-$167. Hair rams were $123-$171 per cwt. Cull ewes were $130-$167.
