Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available July 15 or July 8.
U.S. hogs averaged $117.99 on a carcass basis July 15, down from $118.72 July 8.
The U.S. pork cutout was $122.18 per hundredweight July 15, up from $114.67 July 8.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 16 was 2.255 million, up from 1.971 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.288 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the July 16 Signature Four price was C$252.81 per 100 kilograms, up from $248.73.

The Hams Marketing cash price was $250.81, up from $246.73, HyLife was up to $270.61 from $263.86 the previous week and OlyWest was $260.50, up from $254.80. OlyWest 2021 was down to $258.30 from $250.90 and HyLife’s adjusted price was up to $270.61 from $263.76.
Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $4.25-$4.40 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls and $4.25 for heifers on very light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.50-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.75-$4 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.50-$3.75. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,132 sheep sold July 11.
