Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $42.11 Nov. 26, down from $44.07 Nov. 19.
U.S. hogs averaged $55.13 on a carcass basis Nov. 26 up from $54.95 Nov. 19.
The U.S. pork cutout was $83.98 per hundredweight Nov. 26, down from $89.82 Nov. 19.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Nov. 27 was 2.261 million, down from 2.629 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.34 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Nov. 27 Signature Four price was C$168.66 per 100 kilograms, down from $173.43.

The Hams Marketing cash price was $166.66, down from $171.43, HyLife was $178.82, down from $182.92, and OlyWest was $166.60 down from $172.30. OlyWest 2021 was $187.30 down from $193.30 and HyLife’s adjusted price was $182.77 down from $191.02.
Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $4.00 – $4.15 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls $3.90-$4.15 on heifers on very light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $4.60 – $4.80 for prime bulls and $4.40 – $4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.85-$4.00 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked.
Heifers are being purchased at $3.60-$3.80. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation, and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 600 sheep, lambs and 43 goats Nov. 22.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,213 sheep and 1,201 goats sold Nov 22.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $310-$380 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $315-$378, 70-85 lb. were $273-$348, 86-105 lb. were $220-$285 and 106 lb. and heavier were $225-$265. Wool rams were $147-$200 per cwt. Cull ewes were $135-$230.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $270-$325 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $290-$326, 70-85 lb. were $255-$329, 86-105 lb. were $225-$278 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$240. Hair rams were $200-$225 per cwt. Cull ewes were $140-$215.
