Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $49.54 Feb. 12, up from $49.19 Feb. 5.
U.S. hogs averaged $65.38 on a carcass basis Feb. 12, up from $61.33 Feb. 5.
The U.S. pork cutout was $88.38 per hundredweight Feb. 12, up from $84.18 Feb. 5.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Feb. 13 was 2.664 million, down from 2.675 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.589 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Feb. 13 Signature Four price was C$165.06 per 100 kilograms, up from $161.01.

Crop estimates show mixed results
Model-based estimates used by Statistics Canada showed the 2025/26 crop year has seen increases in canola, corn for grain, oats and lentils production while seeing dips in spring wheat, durum wheat, soybeans and barley in comparison to 2024/25.
The Hams Marketing cash price was $163.06, up from $159.01, HyLife was $176.26, up from $171.85, and OlyWest was $159.60, up from $155.10. OlyWest 2021 was $177.40, up from $174.50, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $186.85, up from $179.89.
Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $3.50 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls and heifers on light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $5 for prime bulls and $4.80 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$4 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.80. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation, and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 615 sheep and lambs and 45 goats sold Feb. 8. Sheep sold under pressure while lambs sold at fully steady prices. Goats sold very strong.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 536 sheep and 76 goats sold Feb. 8.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $360-$420 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $350-$430, 70-85 lb. were $360-$407, 86-105 lb. were $290-$340 and 106 lb. and heavier were $245-$285. Wool rams were $163-$220 per cwt. Cull ewes were $132-$240.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$365 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $330-$400, 70-85 lb. were $340-$385, 86-105 lb. were $280-$340 and 106 lb. and heavier were $240-$280. Hair rams were $150-$200 per cwt. Cull ewes were $130-$250.
