Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts were $37.33 April 3, down from $42.65 on March 27.
U.S. hogs averaged $42.88 on a carcass basis April 3, down from $58.07 March 20.
The U.S. pork cutout was $57.37 per cwt. April 3, down from $73.79 March 27.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to April 4 was 2.565 million, down from 2.754 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.464 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 3 Signature Five price was C$151.92 per 100 kilograms, down from C$161.76 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $68.9,1 down from $73.37 the week before.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were offered prices from C$4.25-$4.60 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15 per lb. with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers were offered C$4-$4.40 hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80 per lb.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,060 sheep and lambs and 130 goats sold March 30. Sheep and lambs sold much lower. Goats sold at almost steady prices.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 981 sheep and 356 goats sold March 30.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $220-$245 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $215-$268, 70 to 85 lb. were $240-$269, 86 to 105 lb. were $204-$279 and 106 lb. and heavier were $204-$217.
Wool rams were $110-$175 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$170.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$230 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $180-$248, 70 to 85 lb. were $225-$254, 86 to 105 lb. were $200-$258 and 106 lb. and heavier were $190-$205.
Hair rams were $120-$170 per cwt. Cull ewes were $115-$175.
