Hogs
United States national live price averages for barrows and gilts were unavailable March 6, listed as US$34.74 on Feb. 28.
U.S. hogs averaged $50.90 on a carcass basis March 6, up from $50.59 Feb. 28.
The U.S. pork cutout was $66.86 per hundredweight March 6, up from $64.12 Feb. 28.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to March 7 was 2.68 million, up from 2.556 million the previous week. Slaughter 2.526 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the March 7 Signature Five price was C$133.19 per 100 kilograms, up from $130.74 the week before.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were attracting prices from C$4.25-$4.60 per pound, hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15 per lb. with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifer offerings were at C$4-$4.40, hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80 per lb.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 653 sheep and lambs and 19 goats sold March 2. All classes of sheep and lambs sold steady. A small run of goats sold steady.
