Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$40.90 per hundredweight Sept. 6, down from $44.39 Aug. 30.
U.S. hogs averaged $52.15 on a carcass basis Sept. 6, down from $55.78 Aug. 30.
The U.S. pork cutout was $73.32 per cwt. Sept. 6, up from $72.31 Aug. 30.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Sept. 6 was 1.847 million, down from 2.379 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 1.873 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Sept. 6 Signature Five price was C$147.69 per 100 kilograms, down from C$161.80 the previous week.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.80-$5.10 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.70-$4.80. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 582 sheep and lambs and 21 goats sold Sept 3. All lambs sold steady.
