Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$53.96 per hundredweight June 28, down from $57.54 June 21.
U.S. hogs averaged $65.82 on a carcass basis July 5, down from $68.18 June 28.
The U.S. pork cutout was $73.17 per cwt. July 5, down from $73.84 June 28.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 5 was 2.072 million, down from 2.384 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 1.9985 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the July 6 Signature Five price was C$168.07 per 100 kilograms, down from $176.66 the previous week.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.90-$5.20 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.90-$5.10. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 538 sheep and lambs and 26 goats sold July 2. All lambs and sheep sold strong on a light offering.
