Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$57.08 per hundredweight April 12, down from $58.62 April 5.
U.S. hogs averaged $76.37 on a carcass basis April 12, up from $75.79 April 5.
The U.S. pork cutout was $85.71 per cwt. April 12, up from $81.84 April 5.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to April 13 was 2.384 million, down from 2.458 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.372 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 13 Signature Five price was C$185.12 per 100 kilograms, up from $182.98 the previous week.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.20-$5.50 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.00-$5.20. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,866 sheep and lambs and 171 goats sold April 8. All classes of lambs sold steady to higher. Thicker sheep sold barely steady.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 963 sheep and 189 goats sold April 8.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $250-$287 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $260-$315, 70-85 lb. were $240-$305, 86-105 lb. were $230-$250 and 106 lb. and heavier were $222-$235.
Wool rams were $110-$125 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$120.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $210-$260 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $237-$280, 70-85 lb. were $230-$275, 86-105 lb. were $212-$235 and 106 lb. and heavier were $180-$220.
Hair rams were $105-$139 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$140.
